Ben Stokes out for Obstructing the field : Watch

Ben Stokes has become the Secods England batsman to be given out obstructing the field in international cricket as England took on Australia Second One day international at Lord's. Len Hutton was the first England player to be given out obstructing the field against  South Africa In 1951 at The Oval.


The incident happened in the 26th over of England’s run chase Stokes hit the ball towards the bowler Mitchell Starc, who threw it back at the stumps, and it hit Stokes on the hand - with the all-rounder indicating that he was trying to avoid being hit.

After the umpires conferred with their TV colleague, Stokes was given out. Smith, Morgan intervene and have a chat with the umpires. Boos ring around Lord’s. Morgan isn’t happy. Stokes drags himself off the field.

Five men have previously been dismissed Obstructing the field in one-day internationals.


According to Wikipedia Sanjam Regmi of Nepal was also dismissed 'Obstructing the field' on 9 September 2012 in a ICC World Cricket League Division Four match against Denmark.
