KATHANDU: Host India and defending champions Afghanistan are vying for the trophy of South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship at Trivandrum, the Indian state of Kerala, at 6:45 pm on Sunday evening.
India made it to the final with a 3-2 defeat of Maldives while Afghanistan trounced Sri Lanka 5-0 on the way to the last match of the tournament.
India has so far lifted the trophy six times while Afghanistan brought the trophy home defeating India 2-0 two years ago. Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan failed to go to the knockout stage of the tournament. RSS
